2023 Academic Scholarship Recipients
Northland Capital scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in higher education who attain excellence in scholastic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Congratulations on our recipient’s achievements and dedication as they grow academically, athletically and as a worth more person overall.
AUDREY RIELAND
Multi-sport athlete, National Honor Society president, letter club, captain, and church volunteer are a few of the many titles that describe Audrey. On top of her many extracurricular activities, her strong work ethic and upstanding character serves for success toward her future education.
With well-rounded academic studies attending Albany Area High School, she thrives on helping others and exceeds in her abilities to lead and serve achieving NHS gold cords for her many volunteer efforts.
Audrey is the daughter of Transaction Coordinator – Karen Rieland, her childhood dream was to become a “baby doctor” and with principles to care for others, Audrey will excel in the nursing program as she continues her education at South Dakota State University to pursue a career as a nurse midwife.
“With motivation, success, and failures, as well as a little bit of chaos, I will feel like I have successfully done something to help people to the best of my ability.”
TANNER REIS
“I live by one philosophy which is to treat others the way you want to be treated. With a little focus and commitment, I can accomplish anything and trust in God’s plan for me.”
Tanner is a multi-sport athlete and Albany Area High School graduate where he enhanced his leadership skills in letter club and as team captain. Capturing the state basketball title this year demonstrated his philosophy that nothing in life comes easy – to be able to better myself and succeed, the first step needs to be commitment.
The son of Director of Business Development – Cathy Reis, Tanner’s approach is to live the absolute best life as he continues his education in business studies at North Dakota State University.
MAYA LENTNER
With a strong stance, Maya enhances her leadership skills in the boxing ring. Commitment to not give up and sticking to her word are her firsthand lessons to success.
“Integrity is one of the most important qualities to have because anyone can pretend to be a good person, but not everyone can hold true to their values when nobody is looking.”
Maya is a ROCORI High School graduate who puts best efforts into her work, school, sports, and faith. As the daughter of Director of IT and boxing trainer – Clint Lentner, she is a well-rounded fighter and prepared to expand her education and talents at Alexandria Technical and Community College with diverse interests to train as a DNR officer or pursue exercise science.
