Lessons of Northlandia: 30 Years of Growth

This year we took our annual theme farther than ever before as we worked with an artist to design a theme park. Inspired by the imagination and experiences of Disney, we created lands and rides to tell our story.

As our company marks 30 years of growth, change and possibility, we are proud to unveil: Northlandia. More than a concept, Northlandia is a living story — one that honors where we’ve been, reflects who we’ve become and invites every customer, employee and partner into the adventure ahead. Our mission has been clear from the beginning: to provide business capital with integrity, commitment and excellence.

“It’s been a fun journey that started with taking a leap of faith — and a lot of prayer,” said Chief Executive Officer Willis Kleinjan, who was a young father when he started the company. “We had a desire to create something different. Something better. But it wasn’t easy. Now, we get to look back, celebrate achieving a big vision and look forward what’s to come.”

This year’s anniversary theme is about walking through our history, not reading it from afar. It’s about stepping inside the moments that shaped us and seeing how every decision, every risk and every win built the path we’re on today. Each day, we aim to help businesses grow and thrive by offering tailored equipment financing solutions, with a core purpose of honoring  God and enriching lives through faithful stewardship and strong partnerships.

We invite you – our customers, our partners and our community – into the gates of Northlandia. From here, the path unfolds across four lands — each one representing a defining era of our company’s evolution.

“You won’t just visit a theme park…you’ll step inside the living heartbeat of our journey,” Chief Financial Officer Jerry Baker shared at the all-staff meeting that unveiled the theme with other members of the leadership team in costume.

Today, we share five lessons we learned along the way:

Every great organization begins with belief before structure.

Foundation Oasis with the enchanted treehouse that started it all reminds us that our earliest success didn’t come from scale or sophistication — it came from values. By building alliances, launching our first digital presence, embracing the “You’re Worth More” mindset, and living the “Fish philosophy,” we planted roots that continue to support everything we do today.

Lesson:
When culture is intentional, growth becomes sustainable.

Foundation C

Progress requires pause.

At Reflection Ridge, we remember the years when we defined our mission, remodeled for growth, honored our first CLFPs and earned recognition among the ELFA’s Top 100. These milestones were possible because we took time to reflect — to assess where we were and decide not only where we wanted to go, but what we wanted to be known for.

Lesson:
Clarity doesn’t come from speed alone — it comes from reflection.

Reflectridge C

The climb matters.

From rebranding to leadership evolution and new syndication models to the shift to remote work, Mount WorthMore represents seasons of uncertainty that reshaped us. The terrain changed — and so did we.

Lesson:
Growth happens when we move forward, even when the ground shifts beneath us.

Worthmore C

Acceleration is earned.

The Exchange celebrates the years when innovation surged — new teammates joined the journey, new technology came online, data evolved, automation expanded, and we surpassed $1 billion in managed assets. This wasn’t momentum for momentum’s sake; it was alignment turning effort into lift.

Lesson:
When people, tools, and purpose align, progress accelerates.

Exchange C

The most important lesson is the simplest one.

Northlandia isn’t a finale — it’s an opening. Every trail we’ve taken informs the next one. Every chapter empowers the next generation of leaders, builders, and explorers.

Lesson:
Our greatest impact lies ahead — and everyone has a role in what comes next.

Experiencing Northlandia

Northlandia is more than a 30th-anniversary theme. It’s a reminder that our story is alive — shaped by the people who built the foundation, navigated the rapids, climbed the peaks and launched us forward.

As the gates open, one truth stands clear:
The adventure is only just beginning. And we look forward to sharing it with you.
