Director of Business Development – Vocational Vehicles We’re expanding our national presence in the vocational vehicle and equipment finance market, and we’re seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to drive market growth, build strategic vendor relationships, and shape the foundation of a future high-performing team. As a key contributor to our profitable growth strategy, you’ll focus initially on direct originations and vendor program development, with the opportunity to grow into a broader leadership role as the market expands. What You’ll Do Strategic Growth Develop and execute a market growth strategy for the Vocational Vehicle segment. Identify industry trends, competitive shifts, and new opportunities to inform decisions. Represent Northland Capital at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities. Business Development Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and industry partners. Negotiate complex deals and structure financing solutions that meet customer needs while ensuring profitability. Drive new business through proactive outreach, vendor program development, and targeted marketing. Future Leadership Contribute to the foundation of a scalable, high‑performing team. Provide insight into sales processes, structure, and best practices to support market expansion. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Marketing, Credit, and Operations to ensure seamless deal flow and exceptional customer experience. Monitor pipeline performance and provide regular market updates to senior leadership. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. 7+ years of business development or sales leadership experience — ideally within vocational vehicles, transportation, or equipment finance. Proven success building vendor relationships and driving revenue. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into strategy. Willingness to travel 30–50%.
