Northland Gives Back with Purpose
“Being faithful stewards of the gifts that we’ve been entrusted with” has been the corporate purpose statement of Northland Capital since its inception. It’s an intentional part of the company’s culture and naturally leads to giving back through service and financial support.
“It’s not something we simply do, but rather who we are and what we believe as a company – to the core,” CEO Willis Kleinjan said. “It’s how we seek to honor God and enrich the lives of our customers, partners and employees. I enjoy seeing both our long-time and new team members catch the heart and get involved.”
Northland Capital has been a part of Equipment Finance Cares, an industry group focused creating opportunities for professional and philanthropic connections and impact in the Equipment Finance Industry through peer leadership, awareness, and charitable giving.
Here’s a look at a few ways that the Northland Capital team has made a difference in the past few months:
- Celebrate Minnesota
As a partner of Celebrate Minnesota, Northland Capital helped provide scholarships for youth to attend summer camps with local youth leaders, bring a national school assembly speaker to share a message of hope with 10,000 students at 10 local middle and high schools and host a community concert event with Crowder, Jeremy Camp and LeCrae. - Teresa Orphans Foundation
This long-time partnership with St. Teresa Orphans Foundation has led to employees run donation drives for everything from shoes to school supplies and pack semi-size containers of goods to benefit the orphanage and school in Tanzania. The most recent shipment is on its way — with much needed equipment and Christmas gifts for the children. - Walk for Hope
Northland Capital’s activities are often employee led, like the recent Walk for Hope. Being impacted by breast cancer firsthand led a team of Northland Capital employees to come together to participate in the Walk for Hope in October to raise much needed funds for local breast cancer fighters and survivors. All funds support the Coborn Cancer Center Breast Cancer Fund.
“We know our involvement in these causes make a difference to each of them,” Kleinjan said, “but they also allow us to live our core values of teamwork, relationship and most of all – fun.”
